Conservation writer and wildlife television researcher, passionate about restoring Britain's native birds, wildlife and landscapes. This site contains details of my publishing and television work, photography, and birding projects including a selection of trip reports from across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
Remember these? Not unless you're quite an age. Three thousand years ago, the fens of Somerset held enormous dalmatian pelicans, whilst wild cattle, elk, beavers, wolves, bears and lynx stewarded Britain. Since that time, our birdlife has never ceased to vanish and decline. Now, in recent decades, we face a new wave of extinction in birds as once-familiar cuckoos, nightingales and turtle doves all plunge towards the brink. It's time we left the next generation better off. Released in July 2018, REBIRDING is the first book to explore a wilder future for Britain's birds, and envisage the better, exciting, job-filled country that this could provide. Coming in June 2018 - from NHBS Bookstore, on Amazon, and in bookstores near you.
